International Conference on Sustainable Urban Public Transport, Kuching, Sarawak, 4 - 6 August 2010

Myself with Mr. Penalosa in Kuching, Aug 4, 2010

I attended the conference in Kuching, Sarawak from 4 - 6 August 2010. Mr. Enrique Penalosa, the ex-Mayor of Bogota who introduced BRT in Bogota, was the keynote speaker. After the talk by Mr. Penalosa, I am convinced that a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a much cheaper, and may be a better, alternative to LRT systems. Already, Iskandar Malaysia has decided to choose BRT over LRT. So does Kuching. Miri might be on board the BRT platform soon.
